Russian Academy of Sciences takes part in a meeting of the Working Group on Culture of the Russian-Hungarian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation

From September 2–4, 2021, the Days of Spiritual Culture of Russia took place in Hungary (Budapest), organized by the Ministry of Culture jointly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

The events were co-chaired by Olga Yarilova, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, and Zoltán Lőrinczi, Secretary of State for International and Carpathian Basin Affairs at the Hungary’s Ministry of Human Capacities.

As part of the visit, Darya Chernoivanova, Deputy Head of the Russian Academy of Sciences International Cooperation Department, participated in a meeting of the Working Group on Culture of the Russian-Hungarian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, addressing issues and future bilateral cooperation projects in the fields of music, museums, education, libraries, interregional cooperation and scientific research.

The meeting concluded with initialling of a Memorandum of Intent on cooperation in the field of archaeology between the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, and the Ministry of Human Capacities of Hungary and the Hungarian Prime Minister’s Office. The document is expected to be signed at a meeting of the Russian-Hungarian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.

A meeting was also held with Gergely Bőhm, Head of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences President’s Secretariat, and Nicoletta Farago, Specialist of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences International Cooperation Department. The agenda included a new structure of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the possibility of signing a new agreement on scientific cooperation between the Russian and Hungarian Academies, and topical issues that could be included in the roadmap for implementing it.
