On September 30, 2021, President of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) and academician Alexander Sergeev met with academician Ashot Saghyan, President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia (NAS RA), in the RAS Reception Hall.
The Russian delegation was represented by academician Yuri Balega, RAS Vice-President, and representatives of the RAS International Cooperation Department.
The Armenian delegation included Artur Ishkhanyan, academician and corresponding member of the National Academy of the Republic of Armenia.
The participants discussed proposals submitted by scholars from the two countries on the draft roadmap for scientific and technical cooperation between the Russian and Armenian Academies of Sciences, including development of a remote method for assessing the ecological condition of mountain lakes using ultra-high resolution data, the study of geophysical and seismo-geodynamic processes in order to reduce natural and man-made disasters, management, search and optimization in solving dynamics problems, the study of the Jrapi archaeological site, development and creation of acoustic-electronic devices based on synthesized new materials, development of COVID-19 diagnostic kits and many others.
At the end of the meeting, RAS President and academician Alexander Sergeev was invited to pay a return visit to the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia.
