On October 21, 2021, a meeting was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of the Russian Federation to discuss cooperation in science, technology and innovation between the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as under the Interstate Program for Innovative Cooperation of CIS Member States (Interstate Program) up to 2030.
The Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) was represented at the meeting by Sergey Malenko, Head of the RAS Department for International Cooperation, who gave a welcoming speech.
Others present included representatives of the CIS Executive Committee, Ministry for the Economy and Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Skolkovo Foundation, the CIS Innovation Commercialization Centre, the State Intellectual Property and Innovation Service under the Ministry for the Economy and Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund.
The agenda covered effective cooperation within the Russian Federation in innovation at the interregional level, the role of Innovation Commercialization Centres as common ‘entry points’ for businesses in implementing the Interstate Programme, along with practical ways to promote innovative projects and products on CIS markets, particularly in Kyrgyzstan, with a special focus on priority areas.
On the basis of the results of the event, it was agreed to cooperate further through the Innovation Commercialization Centres and to work systematically with projects in both countries.
